Attorney Referral Disclaimers for Clinicians and Referral Partners

No Assumption of Legal Advocacy Role

While clinical insights may be provided, I do not serve in an advocacy or legal advisory role and do not offer legal conclusions or opinions.

Client Confidentiality is Paramount

All disclosures are limited to the scope explicitly outlined in the signed Release of Information (ROI). No session content, diagnoses, or trauma narratives will be shared unless specifically authorized.

Non-Diagnostic Reporting

Unless required by court order or specified in a signed ROI, no formal diagnosis will be provided. Reports are limited to observable behavior, treatment engagement, and progress.

No Guarantee of Outcome

Therapeutic participation does not guarantee specific legal outcomes or behavioral changes, and therapeutic progress is often nonlinear.

No Contact Without Consent

I will not speak with or respond to requests from attorneys or third parties unless a signed ROI is on file from the client.

No Expert Testimony Without Separate Agreement

Testifying in court, depositions, or providing affidavits is not included in standard care and requires a separate agreement and additional fee structure.

Therapeutic Relationship Supersedes Legal Strategy

My primary obligation is to the client’s therapeutic welfare. Any recommendations or observations are grounded in clinical, not legal, priorities.

Information Subject to Change

Clinical impressions and engagement status may evolve over time. Any summary reflects the status as of the date of submission and is not guaranteed to remain static.

Right to Decline Requests

I reserve the right to decline requests that would breach ethical standards, clinical neutrality, or the therapeutic relationship.

No Third-Party Distribution

Information shared with attorneys is not to be forwarded to additional parties without explicit, documented client consent.
